Royal Caribbean unveils Australia, New Zealand deployment
April 20, 2012
Royal Caribbean plans to send three of its 22 ships to Australia and New Zealand for the winter of 2013-14.
The line on Wednesday announced that the 3,114-passenger Voyager of the Seas, 2,139-passenger Radiance of the Seas and 1,998-passenger Rhapsody of the Seas would return to the region to operate 55 sailings between September 2013 and April 2014.
The vessels already are scheduled to sail in the region this coming winter.
The newly announced voyages collectively will include stops at 56 South Pacific ports, and the company also announced plans for several "cruisetours" in the region that combine a cruise with a pre- and post-cruise land tour to such destinations as Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
Royal Caribbean says Voyager of the Seas will begin its 2013-14 deployment in the region with a 14-night sailing from Singapore to Sydney on Oct. 24, 2013 that includes calls at Kuala Lumpur (Port Keland), Malaysia; and Darwin and Brisbane, Australia.
The ship then will home port in Sydney for a series of nine sailings to New Zealand, Fiji and New Caledonia that range from nine to 14 nights.
The Voyager itineraries will include a one-time, nine-night Tasmania cruise with an overnight at Hobart and an unusual, 18-night Australia and New Zealand sailing to Perth.
Radiance of the Seas and Rhapsody of the Seas also will home port in Sydney, offering a wide variety of seven- to 15-night itineraries between October 2013 and early May 2014.
The voyages will include visits to Australia's Tasmania and Queensland, New Zealand; Fiji and New Caledonia.
Radiance of the Seas also will circumnavigate twice around Australia, with 16-night north coast and 17-night south coast and New Zealand sailings available.
