Katmai National Park in Southwest Alaska tends to be one of the more expensive/remote parks to get into in Alaska. The park is located on the Alaskan Peninsula about 250 miles west of Anchorage Alaska, about 100 miles north west of Homer, Alaska or 50 miles south of King Salmon, Alaska. Southwest Alaska is generally known for unpredictable weather that is summer will generally contain some periods of low clouds and rain with temperatures in the +50f. Wolves are commonly seen in the area and are even occasionally seen fishing for salmon with the bears at the falls.
